We document fracture 

characteristics, management 

and related complications in patients with traumatic long 

bone and spinal cord injuries

Pelvic injuries


Treatment for this can be 

surgical or non-surgical 

depending on the stability of the bone. Severe pelvic 

fractures will require surgery

Hip and knee 

Arthroplasty 

Usually a surgical treatment is taken to eliminate any pain or discomfort the patient might

be facing

Spine infections 


A treatment of both surgical and non-surgical options are given. Non-surgical treatment can be long-term antifungal therapy but will extend the time patient stays in the hospital, and surgical which will only be considered if non-surgical is not favored or working

Dr Maleho Maku is a passionate and self-driven Orthopaedic and Spine Surgeon where he has devoted his time to the prevention, diagonosis and treatment of disorders of the bones, joints, ligaments, tendons and muscles. A dynamic expert in his field, he is trained from the University of Free State and the University of Pretoria. 


A vision of providing quality healthcare to the community in which he serves.  Motivated by the need to improve the service provided to the impoverished areas of Free State which pushed him to chisel his skills and be the experienced and skilled Orthopaedic and Spine Surgeon that he is today.
